MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — A search is under way for a missing hunter in Latah County in northern Idaho.

Authorities say Charles Moody, of Cottonwood, was hunting with his son near Harvard when the pair split up Wednesday afternoon with plans to meet up again half an hour later.

But Moody failed to show up, and a search began around 9 p.m.

Moody is described as being in his mid-60s, 5-foot-4, 245 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a camouflage fleece jacket and camouflage pants. He reportedly was not carrying food, water or materials to start a fire.

Helicopters from Fairchild Air Force Base and the U.S. Border Patrol have been called in to assist in the search.
