Pursuant to a criminal investigation involving a local business, the Soda Springs Police Department arrested Russell S. Walker, 47, for burglary.

Officers executed a search warrant on Walker’s residence, and recovered items stolen from local businesses.  Walker was in possession of three miniature motorcycles, four Samsung Galaxy tablets, seven DeWalt drills, one Vizio HD Soundbar, and several other items reported stolen from local businesses.  Total amount of recovered property is approximately $5,000.

Investigating SSPD Officer Nicholas Conley stated, “I wanted to express my appreciation to several community members for their invaluable assistance in the investigation of Mr. Walker.  As we continue our efforts to work with the community, we look forward to increasing our effectiveness in keeping our city’s residents and businesses safe.”

An investigation is ongoing regarding the possibility of additional thefts, and merchandise may have been sold to area pawn shops and other individuals.

Chief Rice stated he is pleased with the outcome of a very complicated case.  Investigating officers took the extra steps necessary to complete this investigation.  I appreciate the assistance and cooperation given by merchants and citizens of this community.


Caribou County Prosecuting Attorney Greg Haney is presently charging Mr. Walker with three counts of Felony Burglary.  Additional Felony and Misdemeanor charges are pending further investigation.  Walker is currently being held in the Caribou County Jail pending his arraignment.
