BLACKFOOT — A Blackfoot City Police pursuit through the city limits on U.S. Highway 91 ended abruptly Friday evening when the 2003 Pontiac Grand Am involved hit a police spike strip at South Shilling Ave., spun into the opposite lane of traffic and struck a car driven by David J. Contreras, 17, of Blackfoot.

    Contreras, who was driving a 2005 Kia Spectra, and his three passengers:  Porfirio Juarez, 17, of Blackfoot; Getzely Huerta-Valenzuela, 15, of Aberdeen; and Diego J. Gonzalez, 17, of Moreland, were all transported by ground ambulance to Bingham Memorial Hospital where they were treated for injuries.

    The Pontiac being pursued by police was driven by Daniel R. Wallace, 34, of Chubbuck, according to Idaho State Police. After the crash, Wallace and his passenger, Kylee R. Borjas-Black, 23, of Pocatello, fled the scene on foot. The were both arrested by Blackfoot city police a short time later.

    ISP reported that the accident took place about 5:44 p.m. and the northbound lane of travel on Highway 91 was blocked for 2 hours while crews worked to remove the wreckage.
